The Council gives notice that, after consultation with the General Board, and on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee for the appointment and reappointment of Pro-Vice-Chancellors (comprising the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman; three members of the Council: Professor A. J. Badger, Dr L. C. Taub, Dr D. W. B. McDonald; and two members of the General Board: Professor P. J. Ford and Professor Sir Tom Blundell), it has appointed Professor Stephen John Young, EM, as senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor with responsibilities for Planning and Resources for three years from 1 August 2009.
