Appointments and grants of title

The following appointments and grants of title have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Engineering. Dr Stuart Kenneth Haigh, M.A., M.Eng., Ph.D., G, appointed from 1 November 2008 until the retiring age. Dr Paul Bernard Heffernan, M.B.A., Ph.D., CLH, B.Sc., London, appointed from 1 January 2009 until the retiring age.

Deputy Directors

Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences. Dr Benjamin David Mestel, B.Sc., Bristol, M.Sc., Ph.D., Warwick, appointed part-time from 1 November 2008 for five years.

University Offices (Academic Division). Mr Jonathan Daniel Beard, B.A., East Anglia, appointed as Director of Undergraduate Recruitment from 1 December 2008 until the retiring age.

Grants of Title

Affiliated Lecturer

Engineering. Dr Daping Chu, SE, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2008 for a further two years.

Correction

Certain of the details published in the 5 November 2008 edition of the Reporter (p. 142) are incorrect.

The appointment of Dr Sanjay Jain as a University Lecturer in Economics was included in error.
