Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Architecture and History of Art

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on 11 November 2008, in the Boardroom at the Department of Architecture, 1-5 Scroope Terrace. The main business is to elect two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) (Statute C, IV, 2(c)) to serve for four years, until 31 December 2012.

Nominations for election and notice of any other business should be addressed to the Secretary of the Faculty Board, 1-5 Scroope Terrace, Trumpington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1PX (email as820@cam.ac.uk), to arrive not later than 6 November 2008.

Asian and Middle Eastern Studies

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on 11 November 2008, in Lecture Room 1, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Sidgwick Avenue. Among the business to be transacted will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of one member to serve on the Faculty Board for four years from 1 January 2009.

Nomination forms are available from Mrs Mary Howe, Faculty Administrator, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Sidgwick Site (tel. 01223 335107, email administrator@ames.cam.ac.uk). Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, should be returned to the Faculty Administrator not later than 6 November 2008, together with notice of any other business.

Education

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Education gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 2008 in Room 2S5 in the New Faculty Building, Faculty of Education, 184 Hills Road.

Notification of any agenda items should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Education, 184 Hills Road, not later than Tuesday, 11 November 2008.

History

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of History gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 18 November 2008, in Room 3 in the Faculty of History. The main item of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years with effect from 1 January 2009.

Nomination forms, signed by the nominee, the proposer, and seconder, should reach the Secretary at the Faculty of History, West Road, not later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 11 November 2008.

Social and Political Sciences (Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and International Studies with effect from 1 January 2009)

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 2008, in the SPS Committee Room, Old Cavendish Building, Free School Lane. The agenda for the meeting will be circulated to members of the Faculty. One of the items of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), four members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2009.

It should be noted that, in accordance with Grace 2 of 22 October 2008, the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences will be replaced by the Faculty Board of Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and International Studies (PPSIS), and consequently the election mentioned in the previous paragraph will be to places on the Faculty Board of PPSIS. Continuing members of the Faculty Board will serve the remainder of their tenure as members of the new Faculty Board.

Nominations in writing, signed by the proposer, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, should reach the Secretary, Dr Mary Griffin, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Old Cavendish Building, Free School Lane, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 13 November 2008. It would be convenient if notice of any other business that members wish to be discussed were sent in writing to the Secretary by 10 a.m. on Monday, 10 November 2008.
