TANNER LECTURES 2008

This year's Tanner Lectures, on the subject of What's left of culture and society?, will take place on 30 and 31 October 2008. The main lecture will be given by Professor Lisa Jardine, CBE, at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 30 October, in Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Site. Professor Jardine's first lecture is entitled The dream of democratic culture; her second lecture is entitled Is anyone in charge of public opinion?

The Respondents' Lectures will be held in the Faculty of Law, Room LG 18, on Friday, 31 October, from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Respondents are Mr Alan Rusbridger, Dame Joan Bakewell, Professor Morag Shiach, and Professor Frank Kelly.
