The Principal Investigator (PI) Development Programme (see http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/hr/cppd/pi/) provides core and new training needs as they arise for PIs. The core programme provides opportunities to meet with funders, workshops covering project management and leadership strategies, and short briefings on current HR issues to assist in group management. New pilots based on building business skills in PIs, effective committee skills, and sessions on widening PIs' public profile are scheduled for this new academical year. The 2008-09 calendar is now available on the above website. A PI advisory group is being formed this term to inform the continual development of the Programme. Any PIs - whether new, aspiring or well-established - are encouraged to contact Dr Denise Dear (email dvd20@admin.cam.ac.uk) to register their interest.
