The Faculty of Philosophy is seeking to appoint a University Lecturer in Philosophy. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in teaching and research and must be able to take up the appointment on 1 October 2009.
The successful candidate will contribute to the Faculty's work in research, and graduate and undergraduate teaching. Her/his research speciality may be in any area of Philosophy. Ability to teach in one or more of the following areas, at undergraduate level at least, would be an advantage: Metaphysics, Philosophy of Mind, History of Philosophy (including Ancient Philosophy), Epistemology, Ethics, Aesthetics. The salary will be in the range of £34,793 to £44,074 a year (pay award pending).
This post is permanent, subject to the satisfactory completion of a review of the initial probationary period of office; this review is intended to be a constructive one, is non-competitive, and most post-holders in Cambridge complete it satisfactorily.

The Department of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Lecturer to take up appointment in 2009. The clinical training associated with this post will be in Renal Medicine, and the candidate appointed will be of the standing required for an honorary contract of service with the NHS Executive Eastern Region as a Specialty Registrar/ST3-7 in Renal Medicine. The post-holder will be required to undertake clinical work, teaching, and research, the latter likely to be in an area related to immunology. The post is approved for dual training in General Internal Medicine (GIM) if required. Teaching will include acting as a Clinical Supervisor to a group of students.
