Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Marketing and Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Management Science at Judge Business School (two posts)

Due to the growing success of Judge Business School, the School is looking to recruit a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the field of Marketing and a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the field of Management Science.

Successful candidates will be able to provide clear evidence of intellectual excellence and the potential and ambition to establish a publications record in the leading journals in their field; they will have a Ph.D. Degree (or if applying for a Lectureship will expect soon to receive a Ph.D. Degree) in a relevant subject. Experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or post-experience levels is desirable.

Depending on the experience of the successful candidates, the appointments will be made at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level. Appointments will be from 1 September 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary for both posts will be in the range of £46,759 to £49,606 a year (pay award pending).

John van Geest Lecturer (non-clinical) in Brain Repair in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (Centre for Brain Repair)

The Brain Repair Centre invites applications for the John van Geest Lectureship, an endowed research faculty position. (Lectureships are equivalent to Assistant/Associate Professor grade in the US system.)

The Brain Repair Centre is a division of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. It incorporates eighteen scientific groups, about half of which are located in the E. D. Adrian Building on the Addenbrooke's Hospital site. The Lecturer will be located in the E. D. Adrian Building.

Research in the Brain Repair Centre spans basic and clinical neuroscience. The target diseases of the Centre are Alzheimer's and related diseases, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and glaucoma. The Centre aims to develop basic technologies that will prevent and repair damage. Further information is available on http://www.brc.cam.ac.uk/.

The successful candidate will have established an excellent record of research in basic science related to the aims of the Centre.

The appointment will be to the retiring age subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period. The salary will be on the scale £34,793 to £44,074 a year (pay award pending).

Head of Financial Systems (Senior Assistant Treasurer) in the Finance Division

The University is recruiting a senior manager to drive the relationships that the Financial Systems team have with the various University Departments, and in doing this agree on a strategic direction for finance and reporting systems. The successful candidate will have significant relationship management skills, with demonstrable examples of effective stakeholder management and influencing at the highest level. Applicants should have a background in either Finance or IS management and be able to apply best practice and functional systems knowledge to the Finance leadership team.

Candidates should: demonstrate strong technical or functional knowledge of finance systems, preferably of Oracle e-Business; have experience of setting a strategy for financial systems; have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships across different Departments; demonstrate the ability to lead and develop a team to ensure their skills meet the Department's ongoing needs; and have a strong understanding of finance processes and practices.

Financial Planning Accountant (Administrative Officer) in the Finance Division

Applications are invited for the role of Financial Planning Accountant in the Financial Planning and Analysis section of the Finance Division. The role of Financial Planning Accountant is to support the provision of University-wide financial management information. Specific responsibilities include co-ordinating the consolidation of the financial templates submitted by Schools and Institutions during the Strategic Planning Process into a University-level plan and for providing summary information and analysis of the University's financial position. The post-holder is also responsible for managing the production of routine financial reports to published timetables and the production and maintenance of the University's budget for centrally funded expenditure.

The successful applicant will be ready to respond to demands and be pro-active in identifying potential problem areas, suggesting corrective action where applicable. This will involve building relationships with staff at all levels across the University and working alongside members of the Planning Office. The salary will be in the range of £25,888 to £33,780 a year (pay award pending).

Applicants should have excellent communication, analytical, and IT skills (particularly MS Excel), and whilst being a strong team player, they should also be able to work independently. Applicants will, ideally, be recently qualified or working towards a recognized professional accounting qualification and have experience of working in a medium/large organization.
