COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN LAW

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a fixed-term College Lectureship in Law tenable for five years, to begin from 1 September 2009. The post-holder will be expected to teach up to three undergraduate subjects, including at least one of the foundation subjects. Although candidates with other interests will be considered seriously, the College is particularly interested in appointing someone who is able to teach at least one of the following: Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity (Trusts).

The post-holder would be required to undertake twelve hours of College teaching a week during Terms, and may be expected to assume a role as one of the College Directors of Studies in Law, for which additional payment is made. College Lecturers are also expected to be research active, and are normally elected to a College Fellowship, which carries a range of other benefits and responsibilities. There may be further opportunities to contribute to teaching programmes in the Faculty of Law. Remuneration would be at an appropriate point on the scale for Cambridge University Lecturers, depending on qualifications and experience.

Applications, including a full curriculum vitae and the names of three referees, should be addressed to the Master and submitted to her Secretary, Jane Stevens (from whom further particulars can be obtained) at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, CB2 1RL (tel. 01223 338349, email jvs25@cam.ac.uk) by 31 October 2008. Informal enquiries can be made to Professor Eilis Ferran (email evf1000@cam.ac.uk) or Dr Mark Elliott (email mce1000@cam.ac.uk).
