Retention of academic staff after the normal retiring age: Notice

The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations came into effect on 1 October 2006. Under these Regulations employees have the right to request continuation of their employment beyond the normal retirement age. The Council and the General Board have approved procedures set out by the Human Resources Committee with respect to members of staff in the University. The policy is available on the Human Resources Division website at http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/hr/policy/retirement/. Under the procedures approved it was agreed that the University would be advised of the names, posts, and durations of contracts of academic officers who were retained. The following officers who were due to retire during 2008 have been retained.
