The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Music Tripos, Part II

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

With effect from 1 October 2008

Part II

The supplementary regulations in respect of Paper 2 of Part II of the Tripos have been further amended as follows:

Paper 2. Advanced tonal composition

The detail for this paper has been amended by replacing the final sentence with the following:

The composition should be scored for a maximum of five performers (including a singer, in the case of a song cycle). The instruments are to be chosen from the following: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass. Melody instruments may be used either in a duo with piano or in an ensemble of at least three instruments; the piano may be used on its own.
