regulations for examinations

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 244)

This Notice is an amendment to the Notice that appeared under the Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic Tripos on 4 June (Reporter, p. 833).

With effect from 1 October 2008

The word lengths for Part I and Part II dissertations in the Tripos have been amended as follows:

Regulation 17(c).

By amending the first sentence of the regulation so as to read:

(c) A Part I dissertation shall be of not fewer than 7,000 and not more than 10,000 words in length, and a Part II dissertation shall be of not fewer than 9,000 and not more than 12,000 words in length, including appendices but excluding bibliography.

The Faculty Board have confirmed that no candidate's preparation for the examination in 2009 will be affected by this change.
