The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that she has received with gratitude a benefaction of £200,000, payable in instalments, from the Evelyn Trust. A further benefaction of £200,000, payable in instalments, for the same purpose has been received from a private donor (Mrs Catherine Thomas). The benefactions will be used to support a University Lectureship in Engineering for Clinical Practice for a period of seven years. In recognition of this gift, the General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Engineering, have agreed, for this period, to name the Lectureship as the Evelyn Trust Lectureship in Engineering for Clinical Practice.
