Girton College wishes to appoint a Director of Chapel Music and Assistant Director of College Music from 15 September 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter, until September 2011, during which period the Director of Music will serve as Chairman of the Faculty of Music.
The main duties of the post include directing the College choir in Chapel services and concerts in Cambridge, organizing and taking the leading role in the choir's regular tours, and, where appropriate, organizing and directing choir recordings. The appointee will be expected to work closely with the Director of College Music. The role will suit an experienced musician who is also an animateur and a capable administrator.
The appointment will be subject to a one-year probationary period. The present stipend is £21,477 - £23,883 a year pro rata with the commencement point depending on qualifications and experience.
