UNIVERSITY LECTURERSHIP AND TUTORIAL FELLOWSHIP IN LAW

The Faculty of Law proposes, if a suitable candidate applies, to appoint a fixed-term University Lecturership (CUF) with effect from 1 October 2008 (or as soon as possible thereafter), until 30 September 2012. The Lecturership will be held in conjunction with a fixed-term Tutorial Fellowship in Law at Balliol College.

The successful applicant will have a high standard of research and teaching ability, and will be expected to offer teaching for the College in three of the following subjects: Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, EC Law, Jurisprudence, Land Law, Tort, or Trusts. An ability to teach Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and Jurisprudence may be an advantage. The successful applicant will also be expected to give lectures and seminars and to undertake graduate teaching and supervision for the Faculty, and to pursue research and publication.

The combined University and College salary will be between £40,334 and £54,207 a year (with effect from 1 May 2008) with substantial additional benefits. The Faculty of Law will also provide the Lecturer with a start-up grant of £4,000 (unless the appointee currently holds an established Oxford University academic post).

Further particulars, covering both the University and College posts, and information about how to apply may be obtained from http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/zadvertisements/index.asp or from the Academic Administrator, Balliol College, Oxford, OX1 3BJ (email academic.administrator@balliol.ox.ac.uk or tel. 01865 277758).
