CLARE DISTINGUISHED LECTURE IN ECONOMICS AND PUBLIC POLICY

The Master and Fellows of Clare College would like to announce that Professor Mohan Munasinghe (Vice Chair, UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize) will give the third Clare Distinguished Lecture in Economics and Public Policy, on 'A policy framework for climate change and sustainable development - economic analysis and beyond', in the Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Avenue, on 14 May 2008 at 5 p.m. David Henderson CMG (Visiting Professor, Westminster Business School) will act as discussant. All are welcome. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

COLLEGE RESEARCH ASSOCIATE SCHEME, ACADEMICAL YEAR 2008-09

The College Research Associate Scheme offers short-term collegiate affiliation to postdoctoral researchers and others in similar posts in Cambridge who would like a College association of some kind but do not have one. They are expected to be available to assist with the College's teaching and should not hold similar memberships at other Colleges. They are elected for a year at a time.

The criteria for selection to the scheme include both academic excellence and the College's need for teaching in particular areas. The offer is made in the expectation that the College Research Associate will reciprocate by supervising for the College, if required, for at least three hours a week. Supervision will be paid at the usual rate.

Applications are particularly strongly welcomed from individuals who are willing to teach Economics, English, History, Social and Political Science (Psychology), Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics for Natural Sciences, and Physics.

College Research Associates are offered dining rights, access to the College's sports facilities, gardens, and occasional use of College public rooms.

An application form is available on the College website (http://www.clare.cam.ac.uk/). Applications should be sent to the Master, Clare College, Trinity Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1TL, by Tuesday, 13 May 2008, at the latest. Enquiries about the scheme may be made by email to master@clare.cam.ac.uk.
