Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2007-08, by comparison with those examinations in 2007, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.

Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos, 2008

Part I

The Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2008, the form of the examination for the following paper in Part I of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos will be changed as follows:

Paper 2. Humans in biological perspective

The examination paper will consist of a three-hour examination. The paper will be undivided and will contain between 10 and 12 questions. Candidates will be asked to answer three questions.

Parts IIA and IIB (Biological Anthropology)

The Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2008, the form of the examination for the following papers in Biological Anthropology for Part IIA and Part IIB of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos will be changed as follows:

BA1. Foundations in biological anthropology: the human animal

The examination paper will consist of a three-hour written examination. The paper will be divided into four sections, each section containing two or three questions, and candidates are asked to answer three questions each from a different section.

BA2. Foundations in biological anthropology: the human journey

The examination paper will consist of a three-hour written examination. The paper will be divided into four sections, each section containing two or three questions, and candidates are asked to answer three questions each from a different section.

BA3. Foundations in biological anthropology: the human life span

The examination paper will consist of a three-hour written examination. The paper will be divided into four sections, each section containing two or three questions, and candidates are asked to answer three questions each from a different section.

BA4. Theory and practice in anthropology

The examination paper will consist of a three-hour written examination. The paper will be divided into four sections, each section containing two or three questions, and candidates are asked to answer three questions each from a different section.

BA5. Evolutionary history of African populations

Assessed by submitted essay of 4,000 words.

BA6. Human in an evolutionary paradigm

Assessed by submitted essay of 4,000 words.

BA7. Evolutionary theory and human evolution

Assessed by submitted essay of 4,000 words.

BA8. Evolutionary ecology of extinct hominines

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions.

BA10. From blood to PLoS

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions. Five per cent of the total mark will be based upon the submitted practical work.

BA12. Tools and tool making

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions.

BA13. Evolutionary of cognition and symbolism

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions.

BA14. Cultural primatology

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions.

BA15. Applied biological anthropology

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour written examination containing between four and six questions and candidates are asked to answer two questions. Five per cent of the total mark will be based upon the submitted practical work.

BA16. Data handling in biological anthropology

The examination paper will consist of a two-hour examination and candidates will have to answer two questions, the first question involving a computer exercise.
