FIXED-TERM COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

Applications are invited for a Fixed-term College Lectureship in English. The successful candidate will be required to teach twelve weighted hours (approximately eight contact hours) a week during Full Term and to play an active part in the organization of the subject, including help with admissions. The appointment will be for eight months from October 2008. Candidates should have an excellent educational background, with, preferably (though not necessarily), a doctorate in English and the ability to teach high-achieving and challenging undergraduates via College tutorials in the required subjects. The primary teaching required will be the first-year core courses in Victorian literature and Introduction to Literary Studies (Moderations papers 2 and 1). In addition, the ability to teach some special authors and topics (Final Honour School papers 7 and 8) within the successful applicant's period would be highly desirable.

Further particulars about the post and the application procedure are available from http://www.trinity.ox.ac.uk/. The closing date for applications is noon on 10 April 2008.
