FIXED-TERM COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGINEERING

Applications are invited for a Fixed-term College Lectureship in Engineering. The successful candidate will be required to teach six hours a week during full term and to play an active part in the organization of the subject, including help with admissions. The appointment will be for eight months from October 2008. Candidates should have an excellent educational background, with a good master's degree or equivalent and, preferably (though not necessarily), a doctorate in Engineering and the ability to teach high-achieving and challenging undergraduates via College tutorials in the required subjects. Tutorial teaching is required to the first-year students on papers P3 (Engineering Materials and Thermodynamics) and P4 (Structures and Mechanics), and to second- and third-year students on papers A3 (Dynamics topics), A4 (Structures and Materials), and A5 (Fluid Mechanics and Thermo-dynamics).
