COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN HUMAN GEOGRAPHY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates (holding a Ph.D. Degree or in the final stages of a Ph.D. Degree) for a fixed-term College Lectureship in Human Geography tenable for three years, to begin from a date no later than 1 October 2008. Particular expertise in the fields of development, or environment, or historical-cultural geography, would be preferred, although candidates with other interests will also be considered seriously. The post-holder would be required to undertake twelve hours of College teaching a week during terms, and would be expected to assume a role as one of the College Directors of Studies in Geography, for which additional payment is made. College Lecturers are also expected to be research active, and are normally elected to a College Fellowship, which carries a range of other benefits and responsibilities. There may be further opportunities to contribute to teaching programmes in the University Department of Geography. Remuneration would be at an appropriate point on the scale for Cambridge University Lecturers depending on qualifications and experience.

Applications, including a full curriculum vitae and the names of three referees, should be addressed to the Master and submitted to her Secretary, Jane Stevens (from whom further particulars can be obtained) at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, CB2 1RL (tel. 01223 338349, e-mail jvs25@cam.ac.uk) by 14 March 2008. Informal enquiries can be made to any of the existing Geography Fellows at the College (see the College website at http://www.caths.cam.ac.uk/).
