SCHOOLS LIAISON OFFICER (PART-TIME)

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic graduate to join the Admissions team at Peterhouse as a Schools Liaison Officer (SLO). The SLO will work alongside the Admissions Tutors and Admissions Co-ordinator to develop a programme of school visits, schoolteacher gatherings, and other activities in respect of outreach and widening participation.

Good interpersonal skills are essential as the work will involve interacting with a large number of prospective students, teachers, current undergraduates, Fellows, and other members of the College. Some experience of the Cambridge College system and/or the secondary school sector is desirable. In addition, good organizational skills and some knowledge of computing are required. A clean driving licence and a willingness to travel on school visits are essential.

The post is available in the first instance for three years. The appointment is envisaged from 1 May 2008. The salary is not less than £22,500 a year, pro rata, with a competitive package of benefits. The post will be least half-time (average 18 hours a week) but overall hours are negotiable.
