At a meeting held on 28 January 2008 in the Bristol-Myers Squibb Lecture Theatre, Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road, Professor A. W. Cuthbert, President, was in the Chair. Professor Jim Woodhouse, of the Department of Engineering, delivered the G. I. Taylor Lecture, entitled When is a structure a musical instrument? Percussion instruments and other musical oddities. A vote of thanks was moved by Professor T. J. Pedley.
