MAN PROFESSORSHIP OF QUANTITATIVE FINANCE

Applications are invited for the above post, tenable from 1 July 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Professorship will be held in the Oxford-Man Institute, in association with Christ Church.

The University is seeking an outstanding scholar, with a distinguished research profile and international reputation in quantitative finance.

The Professor will be expected to initiate and lead a programme of research and teaching at the highest level. He or she will be able to provide academic leadership, to demonstrate excellence in teaching and supervision at graduate level, and to contribute to the long-term development of quantitative finance in the Oxford-Man Institute and in the wider academic community.

READERSHIP IN MODERN SOUTH ASIAN HISTORY

The Electors intend to proceed to an election to the Readership in Modern South Asian History with effect from October 2008 (or as soon as possible thereafter). A Fellowship at St Antony's College is attached to the Readership. The successful candidate will have an outstanding research and publications record in Modern South Asian History, with an international reputation; outstanding current and projected research in South Asian History; and a record of successful graduate teaching and supervision, and experience of graduate taught courses. The salary will be in the range of £44,247 to £52,834 a year.

Applications from scholars with research interests in any period from 1700 are welcome, but the person appointed would be expected to co-operate in the teaching of the undergraduate courses on the 19th and 20th centuries.

UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIPS IN THE MATHEMATICAL INSTITUTE

University Lectureship in Mathematical Finance

The Department of Mathematics proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Mathematical Finance with effect from 1 October 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be offered a non-tutorial Fellowship by St Peter's College, under arrangements described in the further particulars.

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in Mathematical Finance. The successful candidate must have a record of internationally excellent research in Mathematical Finance and will be expected to contribute to the work of the Mathematical and Computational Finance research group.

University Lectureship in Applied Mathematics

The Mathematical Institute proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Applied Mathematics with effect from 1 October 2008. The successful candidate will be appointed to a Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College under arrangements described in the further particulars.

The successful candidate must have a very strong record of internationally known research in Applied Mathematics. He or she will be expected to contribute to the work of the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (OCIAM). The closing date for applications is 18 February 2008. The salary for both Lectureships will be on a scale up to £52,628 a year. FIXED-TERM DEPARTMENTAL LECTURESHIP IN PHILOSOPHY

Applications are invited for a fixed-term Departmental Lectureship in Philosophy, associated with a fixed-term College Lectureship at Harris Manchester College. Both Lectureships are for the period 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009, and are not renewable. Applicants should have a record of excellent research in Philosophy. The successful candidate will be expected to give sixteen lectures a year in Philosophy, to give an average of eight hours a week of tutorials and classes during term time for the College, to undertake a limited amount of graduate supervision, and to participate in examining and administrative duties as required. The salary will be in the range of £26,666 to £32,796 a year (grade 7).
