UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN THE HISTORY OF ART

The University seeks to appoint to a University Lectureship in the History of Art, to take up post from 1 October 2008. The post represents an outstanding opportunity to participate in the development of art history at Oxford, with a new undergraduate degree and an expanding graduate programme. The post will be held in conjunction with a Tutorial Fellowship at St Peter's College and a Lectureship at Worcester College, and will attract a combined University and College salary in the range £39,159 to £52,628 a year.

Candidates should have a research specialism within the period 1650-1850, and be able to teach broad themes in that period. The successful candidate will be required to have high ability in research and a record or high promise of successful teaching.

PIRIE-REID SCHOLARSHIP

Applications are invited for a Scholarship, which will provide for fees (normally at the rate for home students) and a maintenance grant, from graduates (including persons graduating in 2008) in any and all fields, who wish to commence studying at Oxford in October 2008 for a degree or diploma, but who would otherwise be prevented by a lack of funds. Preference will be given to candidates who have lived in or been educated in Scotland; candidates not fulfilling this criterion are unlikely to be successful.
