SUPERNUMERARY TEACHING FELLOW IN ENGLISH

St John's College invites applications from suitably qualified men and women for a five-year fixed-term Supernumerary Teaching Fellowship in English (without membership of Governing Body), with effect from 1 October 2008. The person elected will be required to teach undergraduates up to ten hours each week during full term; this will include first-, second-, and third-year teaching in literary topics and writers from 1740 to the present day. He or she will also take a significant role in the organization of teaching English, and English for associated joint subjects in the College; and will also be expected to share pastoral duties and to participate in undergraduate admissions. The election to the Fellowship will be for one year in the first instance, renewable subject to a satisfactory report on the specified duties. No duties are required for the University, and the approval of the College must be sought before any are undertaken. The annual salary will be on the incremental scale of £25,889 to £30,913.
