The Managers of the Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellowships Fund invite applications for nine Fellowships to be held in the Schools of the Biological and Physical Sciences from 1 October 2008.
These Fellowships provide an opportunity for independent research, although the holders will usually work in close collaboration with established research groups. Fellowships are available in the following fields: Pure Mathematics (two posts); Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics; Organic Chemistry; Pharmaceutical Materials Chemistry; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (three posts); and Antibiotic Biosynthesis (biochemistry).
Applications are invited from men and women who have completed their Ph.D. Degree, or equivalent, within the last three years at any university but normally excluding Cambridge and Harvard. Tenure is for between two and three years within the stipend range £25,134 to £32,796.
