Newnham College wishes to appoint a half-time Schools Liaison Officer. The post is fixed-term from mid-February until 30 September 2008 to cover the current post-holder's maternity leave. The hours will usually be between Monday and Friday but occasional work outside normal working hours will be required. The salary is in the range of £24,000 to £26,000 a year, pro rata.
Newnham College admits women students only. The post-holder will undertake a range of activities to support and strengthen the College's outreach and widening participation work, particularly in the College's LEA link areas of Birmingham and North London. The post-holder must have some knowledge of the courses and style of teaching offered at Cambridge University as well as of the Cambridge University Admissions procedures and must also have an understanding of secondary education provision in the British Isles.
