Elections, appointments, reappointments, and grant of title

The following elections, appointments, reappointments, and grant of title have been made:

Elections

Professor John Adrian Pyle, Ph.D., CTH, B.Sc., Durham, D.Phil., Oxford, FRS, Professor of Atmospheric Science, Department of Chemistry, elected Professor of Physical Chemistry with effect from 8 November 2007.

Professor William James Stirling, CBE, M.A., Ph.D., PET, FRS, Professor of Mathematical Sciences and Physics, University of Durham, elected Jacksonian Professor of Natural Philosophy with effect from 1 October 2008.
