Mellon Collaborative Teaching Fellowships at CRASSH

The Mellon Foundation has generously provided funding for a Centre for Disciplinary Innovation (CDI) at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH), as part of a four-year programme to fund an international Consortium. The other CDIs are at the Humanities Centres of Berkeley, Chicago, and Columbia Universities. Activities and programmes funded by this initiative aim to link innovations in research to curricular innovation. A new Teaching Fellowship programme for current Cambridge University and College Teaching Officers forms part of this four-year CRASSH initiative.

CRASSH is now soliciting proposals for collaborative courses to be taught at CRASSH in the Michaelmas Term 2008 or Lent 2009. Courses should be co-taught by two people from different disciplinary areas, Faculties, or Schools. Proposals should present their rationale in relation to interdisciplinarity and/or disciplinary innovation. These courses should not normally be ones that could be offered within a single Faculty or existing curricular structure. Proposals will be selected by a committee including the two Heads of Schools. Further details may be obtained from the CRASSH website at http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/fellowships/mellonteaching.html.
