The Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2008, the form of the examinations for certain papers for the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos will be changed as follows:
This is a new paper. Candidates will be required to answer three questions: one from Section A and two from Section B. Candidates for this paper may not draw substantially on material which they have used or intend to use in another scheduled paper. Candidates may not draw substantially on the same material in more than one question on the same paper.
Candidates should refer to material from one or more centuries in their answer to Section A, providing that this restriction does not apply to commentaries.
Two mutually exclusive questions will be set on each topic in Section B of this paper. The arrangements for topics in Section A will remain unchanged.
