ADMINISTRATOR

The Conference of Colleges is a forum for the Colleges of Oxford University to deal with matters of shared interest and common purpose, and a voice for College interests within the University community. It exists to gather and co-ordinate the views of Colleges and to communicate to the University a coherent College view. A major review of how the Conference conducts its business was completed in June 2007, and the Conference now seeks an experienced administrator to work with its newly appointed Principal Administrator to bring these reforms into effect and to provide continuing administrative support for the Conference and its committees.

The post-holder will be responsible to the Principal Administrator and will be expected to make a major contribution to the work of Oxford's Colleges at a time of considerable change. Applicants should have a strong commitment to the academic values of Oxford University and its Colleges and be able to appreciate the particular needs of the Oxford Colleges, individually and collectively. They should be experienced administrators able to operate in a complex and intellectually challenging environment, to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines, prioritizing as necessary. The successful candidate will have a high standard of university-level education; excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational ability; and be capable of working independently, as part of a small team, and co-operatively with Conference bodies, Colleges, and colleagues in the University. The successful applicant will have strong personal qualities and interpersonal skills, and relevant administrative experience in an appropriate setting. The salary will be in the range of £39,159 to £45,397 a year (with a discretionary range to £49,607).
