FELLOWSHIP AND COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN MATHEMATICS

Peterhouse invites applications for a Fellowship and College Lectureship in any area of Mathematics. The duties will include 120 hours of teaching (an average of six hours a week during the teaching weeks of the year), direction of studies, and the interviewing of applicants for undergraduate admission. A Fellow is expected to be engaged in research of a high academic standard. Sabbatical leave may be taken for up to one term in seven.

The starting salary is currently £23,107 a year, which it may be possible to enhance by accepting further responsibilities. Other benefits include a research allowance of £1,085 a year, an entertainment allowance, and seven free meals a week at the Common Table. Accommodation, free of charge, is normally provided to Fellows who are single. The appointment is for five years from 1 October 2008, or sooner if possible, subject to a probationary review after three years.
