Music Tripos, Part II, 2007-08: Amendments

Further to their Notices of 31 May and 13 June 2007 (Reporter, 2006-07, pp. 708 and 751), the Faculty Board of Music give notice of the following amendments:

The title of Paper 14 has changed from 'Shostakovich and his world' to 'Stravinsky and his legacy', and the title of Paper 15 (not 17 as published on 31 May) has changed from 'Perception and performance' to 'Exploring music psychology'.

The paper numbers and titles of Papers 13 to 17 are therefore as follows:
Paper 13. From Weimar to Stunde Null: Music in Germany from 1919 to 1945
Paper 14. Stravinsky and his legacy
Paper 15. Exploring music psychology
Paper 16. Klezmer
Paper 17. Choral studies

All papers are examined by a three-hour written examination with the exception of the following:
Paper 17.Choral studies

This paper will consist of a written examination of two hours' duration, and either a practical examination or submitted work. The written examination counts as 50% of the overall mark and the practical examination or submitted work counts for a further 50%.

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination in 2008 has been adversely affected by these changes.
