TUTORIAL FELLOWSHIP IN MEDICINE

New College invites applications for an Official Tutorial Fellowship in Medicine from 1 October 2008. The post-holder will be expected to give five or six hours a week tutorial teaching for New College in pre-clinical medicine, and to take the leading role in the administration of Medicine in College.

The total emolument (stipend plus housing and Fellowship allowances) will be £26,191. The successful candidate will also receive a research allowance of £1,350, a book allowance of £760, and an entertainment allowance of £510. The Fellow will be a member of Governing Body and of the Senior Common Room and entitled to full rights of commons during term and vacation.

WESTON JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN BIOLOGY

Applications are invited for the Weston Junior Research Fellowship in Biology for three years from 1 October 2008. The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in the field of Biology.

Fellowship applicants must, at the time of taking up the post, have completed at least two years of study for an advanced degree. The Fellowship carries a stipend of £18,025 a year (subject to review). In addition, the Fellow will be entitled to a housing allowance (currently £1,600 a year) or free rooms in College, if available, meals in College, and to entertainment, research, and book allowances.


Applications are invited for the following Fellowships for three years from 1 October 2008:

ASTOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN PHYSICS

The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in the field of Physics.

JULIANA CUYLER MATTHEWS JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN PHILOSOPHY

The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in the field of Philosophy.

Applicants for the above Fellowships must have completed their first degree before 1 October 2005, and may not have previously held a Junior Research Fellowship or comparable appointment. The Fellowship carries a stipend of £18,025 (subject to review). In addition, a Fellow is entitled to a housing allowance (currently £1,600 a year) or to live in College accommodation if suitable rooms are available, meals in College, and to entertainment, research, and book allowances.

SALVESEN JUNIOR FELLOWSHIP

The person appointed will be expected to undertake advanced research in his/her chosen field, and perform certain liaison and welfare duties. The Salvesen Fellowship is open to men and women who normally have not exceeded four years from completion of their first degree at 1 October 2008.

The Fellowship carries a stipend of £18,025 a year (subject to review). The Fellow will be expected to live in College and suitable accommodation is provided free of charge. Fellows are entitled to meals in College and to entertainment, research, and book allowances.
