COMPUTER OFFICER - USER SUPPORT AND TRAINING

Newnham College is seeking to appoint a full-time Computer Officer who shall: provide support and training to College staff, Senior Members, and students; provide support to those responsible for the content of the College website and general software support for the specialized packages used within the College; be expected to play a full part within the IT Department and to liaise as necessary with the University Computing Service.

The successful candidate is expected to have: a sound track record of providing IT user support; an understanding of web design and web functioning; an ability to act as the interface between those with expert technical knowledge and those users whose level of IT knowledge covers a wide spectrum; a good knowledge of Windows and at least familiarity with Mac OS and Unix and of MS Office (including Access); knowledge, or the inclination and ability to acquire it, of other more specialized packages used within College (including Accurate Solutions, Raiser's Edge, CASC, Pyramid, Vision, and Sun); self-motivation and the ability to work without close supervision. The salary will be between £21,682 and £25,134 a year, plus benefits, according to experience.
