Assistant Registrary in the Academic Division of the University Offices (assigned to the School of the Biological Sciences)

This is a key co-ordinating role, having responsibility for the management of undergraduate teaching in the Faculty of Biology (Medical/Veterinary and Natural Sciences Triposes) and oversight of the operations of the Graduate School, Degree Committee, and Appointments Committees. The post includes acting as Secretary to both Faculty and School Sub-committees, staff supervision, and assistance with strategic planning related to teaching. The role will also encompass work across the Biological Sciences and Clinical Schools. A deputizing role to the Secretary of the School is envisaged for the right applicant.

Applicants should be educated to degree level and have at least six years' relevant administrative experience, preferably in higher education. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to motivate and work to tight deadlines. The salary will be in the range of £33,779 to £42,791 a year.

Faculty Librarian in the Faculty of English

Applications are invited for the position of Librarian in the Faculty of English. This is a key post in a leading teaching and research Faculty, and the post-holder will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient library service for undergraduates, postgraduates, senior members, research students, and visiting scholars.

Applicants must be educated to degree level, and hold a postgraduate professional library qualification. Their experience of professional library work in an academic environment should be extensive, and should include knowledge of international standards (e.g. in cataloguing), printed and electronic resources, experience of automated library systems and of other IT applications. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of managing resources, both human and financial. In addition, he/she will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. The salary will be in the range of £33,779 to £42,791 a year.
