Clinical Lecturer/Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine seeks to appoint a Clinical Lecturer/Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases, to take up appointment on 1 October 2007 or as soon as possible. The appointee would be expected to contribute to clinical service in Infectious Disease and in General Internal Medicine, in rotation with other Specialist Registrars in the Regional Infectious Disease Training Programme based at Addenbrooke's NHS Trust. An interest in clinical infectious diseases is essential. The appointee will be expected to make a contribution to the organization and delivery of teaching in Medicine and Infectious Disease and to maintain a research interest. Appointees will be of the standard required for an Honorary Contract with Addenbrooke's NHS Trust. The level of appointment will be dependent on previous experience.

The salary will be in the range of £29,364 to £50,972 a year. Appointments are for four years initially, with the possibility of reappointment for a further two years.

Two Clinical Lecturers/Specialist Registrars in Medical Oncology in the Department of Oncology

Applications are invited for two Academic Clinical Lecturers in Medical Oncology as part of the Eastern region Medical Oncology Specialist Registrar Training Programme. The academic NTN posts were secured as part of the UKCRC/MMC Integrated Academic Training Programme and are protected academic training posts in a first-class medical oncology training rotation, situated in a world-class research environment. The trainees will be based at the academic and clinical departments on the campus of Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The Lectureships will allow trainees of outstanding academic potential who have completed work for a Ph.D. Degree to complete specialist Medical Oncology training and to develop further academic skills at postdoctoral level.

Candidates will be of the standing required for an honorary contract of service with the NHS Executive Eastern Region as a Specialist Registrar/ST6-7 in Medical Oncology and will be required to undertake clinical work training (nominally 50%) and research (nominally 50%). The appointment will be for four years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment for a further two years. The salary will be in the range of £29,364 to £50,972 a year.
