The Finance Committee of the University Council, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, advises the Council on the management of the University's assets, and on accounts. It monitors investment policy. There is also a separate Investment Board, and a separate Audit Committee.
The Finance Committee seeks to co-opt one or more external, independent members. Expressions of interest are invited, to be sent to Dr Alan Clark, Administrative Secretary, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN (e-mail aef30@admin.cam.ac.uk) as soon as convenient, and if possible by 15 August 2007.
Service as external members of Cambridge University Committees is unpaid, but reasonable travelling expenses are refunded.
