St Catharine's College

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

St Catharine's College is a thriving centre of academic excellence, renowned for its teaching, research, and student support. With five centuries of history, this dynamic and vibrant institution is preparing to respond to the new challenges that face all Higher Education Institutions in the coming years.

An exciting opportunity now exists to lead the Development and Alumni Relations Office. This works closely with the College Society to sustain the College's alumni network, and raises funds to invest in academic achievement, student support, and the maintenance of the exceptional learning environment unique to St Catharine's. The current Development Director, Dr Sean O'Harrow, will shortly leave to take up a museum directorship in the USA.

The new Director, who will become a Fellow of the College, will represent the College at a senior and international level. S/he will ideally have an exceptional track record in income generation, gained preferably in an academic or cultural institution, with demonstrable experience in the creative management and expansion of an established development strategy. S/he will have a confident and intelligent approach to building relationships with senior academics, decision-makers, and business leaders, as well as with other high net worth individuals.

The successful candidate will be comfortable asking for gifts and happy 'doing' as well as 'managing'. S/he will have a persuasive and sophisticated communication style, both in person and on paper, and thrive in a driven academic environment. An excellent salary and benefits package will be offered.

The closing date for applications is 17 August 2007. Further information may be obtained from Lydia Fowler (tel. 020 8392 6654, e-mail lfowler@richmond-associates.com).
