Graces submitted to the Regent House on 25 July 2007

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 3 August 2007.

1. That a Craig Taylor Fund be established in the University to be governed by the following regulations:1

Craig Taylor Fund

1. The income of the Craig Taylor Fund shall be used to provide one or more annual prizes, to be called the Craig Taylor Prizes, which shall be awarded by the Faculty Board of Philosophy on the recommendation of the Examiners for Part IA, Part IB, or Part II of the Philosophy Tripos to the candidates who have shown the greatest distinction in any Part of the Philosophy Tripos, or in any component of any Part of that Tripos, as the Faculty Board of Philosophy shall from time to time specify.

2. It shall be open to the Faculty Board of Philosophy to specify more than one area in which a Craig Taylor Prize may be awarded in any given year.

3. In any year that a Prize is not awarded the income for that year shall be either added to the capital of the Fund or accumulated for use as income in future years, as the Faculty Board of Philosophy may determine.

2. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Professorship of Infectious Disease Informatics established by Grace 2 of 29 November 2007, be assigned to the Department of Zoology for the tenure of Professor Derek James Smith.2

3. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Professorship of Comparative Immunogenetics be assigned to the Department of Pathology for the tenure of Professor James Frederick Kaufman.3

4. That the regulations for the School of Arts and Humanities be amended as follows:4

Regulation 1.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

1. The School of Arts and Humanities shall comprise the Faculties of Architecture and History of Art, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Classics, Divinity, English, Modern and Medieval Languages, Music, and Philosophy, and the Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics.
