Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics: Notice

Following a review of the Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics the General Board, with the concurrence of the Council of the School of Arts and Humanities and the Committee of Management of the Research Centre, have agreed to assign the Centre formally to the School of Arts and Humanities. The Centre's business will be represented at the meetings of the Council of the School by the member for the Faculty Board of English. The General Board have accordingly recommended to the Council that a Grace be submitted to the Regent House to approve the necessary change to the regulations for the School of Arts and Humanities. Subject to the approval of the Grace the regulations for the Centre (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 609) will be amended by including the following regulation for its constitution:

Constitution

The Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics shall be an institution independent of any Faculty or Department but under the supervision of the General Board, and shall be within the School of Arts and Humanities.

The Council has accepted the General Board's recommendation and is accordingly submitting a Grace (Grace 4, p. 934) for the approval of amendments to the regulations for the School of Arts and Humanities.
