The Council has considered the remarks made at the Discussion of this Report on 10 July (Reporter, p. 890). It has noted the remarks made by Professor D. W. Holton and Dr M. R. Minden. The Council does not agree with Dr D. R. de Lacey that the Regent House has insufficient information to come to a conclusion on the case made in the Report for the suppression of the Department of Other Languages. It has agreed to submit a Grace (Grace 5, p. 888) to the Regent House for the approval of the recommendations in the Report.
