The Managers of the Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellowships Fund invite applications for six Fellowships to be held in the Schools of the Biological and Physical Sciences from 1 October 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter.
These Fellowships provide an opportunity for independent research, although the holders will usually work in close collaboration with established research groups. Fellowships are available in the following fields: stem cell biology; antibiotic biosynthesis; developmental neurobiology; experimental atomic, mesoscopic, and optical physics; biochemistry and molecular biology (two posts, one of which is likely to be in microbial biochemistry).
Applications are invited from women and men who have completed their Ph.D. Degree, or equivalent, within the last three years at any university but normally excluding Cambridge and Harvard. Tenure is for between two and three years within the stipend range £25,134 to £32,796.
