The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos, Part II

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 333)

With effect from 1 October 2007

Regulation 27.

Optional dissertation

The Faculty Board have agreed that any student who wishes to submit an optional dissertation in Part II, in place of a Part II Schedule paper that has been suspended, shall be allowed to do so, subject to certain provisions. The Faculty Board have agreed to add the following footnote to Regulation 27(c) setting out these provisions:

The Faculty Board have agreed that any student who wishes to submit an optional dissertation in Part II, in place of a Part II Schedule paper that has been suspended, shall be allowed to do so, assuming that teaching by supervision is available. Students and Directors of Studies will be required to confirm, in writing, that they understand that failure to submit the dissertation and to sit a Part II Schedule paper in its place, will result in zero marks for this option.

SCHEDULES B AND II

Italian

Paper It. 9. (A special subject in Italian culture: Italian cinema: the realities of history) has been suspended for the academical year 2007-08 as the Faculty Board are unable to provide teaching.

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination in 2008 will be adversely affected by these changes.
