Graces submitted to the Regent House on 6 June 2007

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 15 June 2007.

1. That the regulations for the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences be amended as follows:1

Regulation 1.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

1. The School of the Humanities and Social Sciences shall comprise the Faculties of Archaeology and Anthropology, Economics, Education, History, Law, and Social and Political Sciences, the Departments of History and Philosophy of Science and of Land Economy, and the Centres of African Studies, International Studies, and Latin-American Studies.

Regulation 2.

By relettering sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) as (c) and (d) respectively, amending cross-references accordingly, and inserting a new sub-paragraph (b) so as to read:

(b) the Directors of the Centres of African Studies, International Studies, and Latin-American Studies, all of whom shall be members, ex officio;

2. That Regulation 2 for the Kermode Prize be amended so as to read:2

The Prize shall be awarded not later than the first day of Full Michaelmas Term in each year by the Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or by a deputy appointed by the Professor, for distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as shown by overall performance in those subjects in Part II of the Final M.B. Examination.

3. That the recommendation in paragraph 6 of the Report of the General Board, dated 4 May 2007, on the establishment of two Readerships in Judge Business School (Reporter, 2006-07, p. 659) be approved.

4. That the recommendation in paragraph 4 of the Report of the General Board, dated 4 May 2007, on the establishment of a single-tenure Professorship of Materials Science (Reporter, 2006-07, p. 659) be approved.

5. That the recommendations in paragraph 8 of the Report of the General Board, dated 4 May 2007, on Senior Academic Promotions (Reporter, 2006-07, p. 660) be approved.
