FELLOWSHIP AND COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN HISTORY

Pembroke College invites applications for a College Lectureship in History with effect from 1 October 2007. The College seeks a specialist in European History of any period, or British History before 1800. There is a preference for those working in the period since 1500. The successful candidate will be expected to provide twelve hours a week of undergraduate supervision and to share in the Direction of Studies in History for the College. The post is tenable for five years, with the possibility of reappointment to the retirement age, and carries with it an Official Fellowship at Pembroke College. Stipend will be in accordance with the scale for a University Lecturer, which from 1 August 2007 ranges from £33,779 to £42,791, depending on the qualifications and experience of the person appointed.

Application forms and further details of the position are available from Sally Clowes, the Senior Tutor's Assistant, Pembroke College, Cambridge, CB2 1RF (e-mail sally.clowes@pem.cam.ac.uk), and on-line at http://www.pem.cam.ac.uk/jobs/, and should be returned together with three references by 15 June 2007. Selected candidates will be asked to submit written work shortly after the deadline for application; interviews will be held in the third week of July.
