MELLON CAREER DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP IN CLASSICS (LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE)

The Faculty of Classics and Jesus College are seeking an outstanding academic at an early stage of his/her career for a two-year research and teaching appointment in Classics (Languages and Literature) from October 2007.

This two-year Fellowship is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation as part of a wider Oxford University initiative which is designed to provide an intensive and supported career development opportunity, and to promote equality of opportunity by helping to create a more diverse pool of potential candidates for future academic posts at Oxford.

Eligible candidates will typically be at postdoctoral or equivalent level, aspire to a substantive academic appointment, and be able to demonstrate outstanding promise in their field. The salary will be in the range of £25,889 to £31,840 for the normal substantive scale, and up to £34,793 for the superscale range.
