Fitzwilliam College

SENIOR TUTOR

Fitzwilliam College seeks to appoint a Senior Tutor from 1 September 2007. The Senior Tutor is a Fellow of the College and accountable to the Governing Body for the admission, education, and welfare of undergraduate and postgraduate members of the College. The Senior Tutor is supported by eight Tutors, two undergraduate Admissions Tutors, three Graduate Tutors, and a Tutorial Administrator responsible for the day-to-day running of the Tutorial Office.

The post is defined as half-time, for three years in the first instance (subject to review), with a pensionable salary in the range £25,000 to £30,000, depending on whether the successful candidate has the experience and expertise to take direct responsibility for certain duties which are currently devolved.

The College welcomes applications from candidates also qualified to contribute to College teaching. It may pay an additional pensionable College Teaching Officer salary (up to a maximum of a 0.5 post) to a successful candidate whose teaching might reinforce provision in certain disciplines. The post is tenable with appropriate University posts, and the College would particularly welcome applications from University Teaching Officers.
