Senior Assistant Registrary (Head of the Education Section) in the Academic Division of the University Offices

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Assistant Registrary (Head of the Education Section) in the Academic Division of the University Offices. The post-holder will have the lead responsibility for supporting the University's internal quality assurance policies and procedures, implementation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy, interaction with external quality assurance agencies (most particularly the QAA), and a wide portfolio of other duties associated with the delivery of the University's teaching programmes.

Applicants should be educated to degree level and have significant relevant administrative and staff management experience, preferably gained in higher education. Appointment will be to the retiring age subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. The salary will be in the range of £44,074 to £46,758 a year.

Research Associate in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages

Applications are invited for a full-time post of Research Associate, to work on a project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, for the compilation of a grammar of Medieval Greek. This is a five-year project (October 2004 to September 2009), directed by Professor David Holton and Professor Geoffrey Horrocks and employing two Research Associates. Its aim is to produce a systematic and comprehensive description of the Greek language between 1100 and 1700.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. Degree in Greek philology or linguistics and significant experience of working with texts in medieval/early modern vernacular Greek. Expertise in historical syntax may be an advantage. Applicants should have good IT skills and some experience of working with databases. They should be fluent in both English (the working language of the project) and Greek, and have a good working knowledge of at least one other major European language. Teaching Associate in New Testament Studies in the Faculty of Divinity

Applications are invited for a fixed-term Teaching Associate in New Testament Studies in the Faculty of Divinity for two years from 1 October 2007 to 30 September 2009.

The successful candidate should have expertise in the field of New Testament Studies and should be able to deliver high quality lectures. He or she will be expected to contribute to the teaching of New Testament (including Greek) at undergraduate level. Candidates must be able to take up the post on 1 October 2007. The appointment will be subject to six months' probation. The salary will be in the range of £24,402 to £31,840 a year (grade 7).

The post would suit someone who has recently submitted or is about to submit a Ph.D. thesis in the field of New Testament Studies.
