REGULATIONS FOR EXAMINATIONS: NOTICES BY THE GENERAL BOARD

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Economics Tripos

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 270)

Certain supplementary regulations have been amended as set out below:

With immediate effect

Part IIb

Paper 8. The economics of under-developed countries

By replacing the reference to Paper 5 in Part IIA of the Tripos by reference to Paper 3 in Part IIA of the Tripos in the third line of the second paragraph.

Paper 10. Theory and practice of econometrics II

By replacing the reference to Paper 3 in Part I and Paper 5 in Part IIA of the Economics Tripos in the second line of the fourth paragraph by reference to Paper 3 in Part I of the Tripos and Paper 3 in Part IIA of that Tripos.

Paper 11. Time series and financial econometrics

By amending the reference to Paper 11 in the second line of the first paragraph so as to read Paper 10.

The Faculty Board of Economics are satisfied that no student's preparation for the examination in 2007 will be affected by these amendments.

With effect from 1 October 2007

Part I

Paper 3. Quantitative methods in economics

By replacing the words 'Section A will contain four short questions: candidates are required to answer all of these.' in line 4 of the second paragraph by the words 'Section A will contain a number of short questions from which candidates are required to answer four.'

Paper 4. Political and sociological aspects of economics

By inserting the words 'and developing' after the words 'developed' in line 2.

Part IIa

Papers 1 and 2. Microeconomics and Macroeconomics

By replacing the words 'A minimum of one, and a maximum of three' with the words 'A number of' in the third line of the second paragraph.

Part IIb

Paper 5. Mathematical economics

By removing the detail for this paper, which is currently suspended.

Paper 17. A subject in the field of sociology and politics

The Faculty Board of Economics give notice that the subject specified for Paper 17(d) will, until further notice, be

(d) A Subject in Sociology IV (Paper Soc. 7 in Part IIB of the Social and Political Sciences Tripos in any year that the subject of that paper is 'The political economy of capitalism').
