MELLON CAREER DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP IN SPANISH

The Faculty of Modern Languages and Hertford College are seeking an outstanding academic at an early stage of her/his career for a two-year research and teaching appointment in Spanish (20th-century Spanish or 20th-century Latin American literature) from October 2007.

This two-year Fellowship is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation as part of a wider Oxford University initiative which is designed to provide an intensive and supported career development opportunity and to promote equality of opportunity by helping to create a more diverse pool of potential candidates for future academic posts at Oxford. The salary will be in the range of £25,889 to £31,840 (as at 31 July 2007) for the normal substantive scale, and up to £34,793 for the superscale range.

Eligible candidates will typically be at postdoctoral or equivalent level, aspire to a substantive academic appointment, and be able to demonstrate outstanding promise in their field.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

This is a unique opportunity, offering outstanding career advancement prospects, for a talented Development professional to work with Sue Cunningham, Director of Development, to manage one of the UK's fastest growing, highly talented Development teams. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that projects are progressed and targets achieved.

With an excellent track record in Development, the successful candidate will already be operating at a senior level, and will have strong people and project management experience. Experience of working on $/£ multi-million campaigns in a Higher Education context internationally would be highly desirable.
